Farmer Limiteds are not commodity based companies in procurement and trading. Farmer Companies are working for quality extension, production, value addition and marketing. The Companies are location specific, farmer and consumer focused in coffee, spices, fruits, cotton, pulses and vegetables. The farmer limiteds are:

The farmer limiteds are farmer companies registered with ROC under the Companies Act 1956. Farmer Companies are formed by 10 Cluster Level Farmer Associations. Each cluster level farmer association (CLFA) is with a membership of 1000 small and marginal farmers. CLFA is a formation of 50 Farmer Groups of 20 members each. Besides the 10 Member CLFA, the company has promoter member, institutional members, finance and professionals. The Company is run by a team of 7 Board of Directors and two of them are farmer directors. The company operations are manned by professionals.

Farmer Companies are setting up infrastructure facilities for crop production, organic, life saving irrigation, value addition of their crops such as coffee (Pulping Units), Spices (drying and grading facilities) and vegetables (storage and transport). Overall, the companies are engaged in production of inputs, support to farmers in quality production, value addition, storage and marketing. Reduction of the number of middleman in the supply chain is one of the goals. The “farm to fork” strategy of integrating value chain and supply chain is the motto of farmer companies.
